Code Yellow for storms, abundant rainfalls

The National Meteorology Administration (ANM) has issued on Thursday a new Code Yellow warning for bad weather, in southern Romania, valid as of Thursday morning until Sunday at 10.00h.

In most of the country high instability is expected, with torrential rain, electric discharges, wind gusts, storms and hail on isolated areas. The water quantities could exceed 15-25 litres per square metre and on small areas 35-40 l/sq m.

The Code Yellow comes into force on Thursday at 12.00h and ends on Sunday, at 6.00h.

In the counties of Gorj, Valcea, Arges, Dambovita, Olt, Teleorman, Giurgiu and the mountainous regions of the counties of Prahova, Brasov, Sibiu, Alba and Hunedoara torrential rain is expected, accompanied by electric discharges, wind gusts, storms and hail. Water quantities could exceed 25 l/sq m and on small areas 40-50 l/sq m.
