Court declares two Syrians undesirable in Romania for 10 years
Bucharest Court of Appealhas ruled on Wednesday to declare two Syrians undesirable in Romania for ten years. The Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) has notified the Bucharest Court of Appeal last week, asking that two Syrian citizens should be declared undesirable for a period of ten years. SRI argued that the two Syrians are involved in activities generating terrorist risks.
“The SRI’s operation revealed that the two suspects. A.H. and A.H. had been involved in systematic actions in Romania by aggressively promoting the jihadist ideology typical to the active terrorist groups on the front in Syria. At the same time, the two have helped some fellow countrymen enter Romania, with some of them being already flagged as having terrorist connections. During the monitoring time, the two suspects have paid repeated visits to Syria, when they established and nursed closed relations with members of some jihadist groups, including Da’esh,” SRI says.
According to the SRI information, the two suspects posed terrorism-related risk, so the decision was to remove them from the Romanian territory.
SRI has cooperated in this case with the Interior Ministry (the General Immigration Inspectorate) and with the Prosecutor’s Office upon the Bucharest Court of Appeal.
