Craiova Court of Appeal rules the adoption decision of Sorina remains valid
The Craiova Court of Appeal has rejected on Friday Romania’s Prosecutor General’s request to suspend the court ruling through which Sorina, the little girl from Baia de Arama, Mehedinti, had been adopted by a Romanian-born family living in the U.S. Therefore, the adoption decision remains valid.
Săcărin family’s lawyer told Digi24that Sorina is free to go with her adoptive parents in the USA if her passport were available.
“Sorina has no passport at this moment, the release of the passport is denied”, the lawyer said.
As for the trial today, the defender mentioned the court had determined there is nothing to judge anymore.
“We filed the birth certificate under Săcărin name, photos, video footage so that the court should actually understand the child’s major interest”, the lawyer argued.
Sorina is currently in Romania with her adoptive mother, Ramond, as her father has left for the USA, to be with the family’ eldest daughter.
