Creative Learning Hub: Transforming Math Education Through Innovation
It is a true fact that mathematics is an exact science, but it can be taught and learnt in a creative way, based on real-life judgements. Dr. Georgiana Popovici, who has a PhD in Mathematics, specialty Mathematical Statistics, understood that while working with students and helping them with their difficulties in Maths and decided to do things differently.
She founded Creative Learning Hub in 2019, and besides preparing candidates for the international A Level, GMAT and SAT exams in mathematics and statistics, she also provides another perspective over these subjects, by integrating innovation, real-world, teamwork and communication into teaching.
“I founded the center in 2019. While working with students in the classroom, I noticed that they often faced difficulties adapting to new school environments and teachers, especially after the pandemic situation when schools were moved from offline to online. That situation can easily lead to the loss of valuable information in class. These additional support sessions can fill gaps that, over time, can become crucial for gaining admission to a prestigious international high school. Furthermore, at the center, we focus on a different learning approach—innovative teaching methods, encouraging teamwork, and providing constant and constructive feedback. These international exams are very important for high school students who wish to study at universities abroad or attend an international high school,” said dr. Popovici.
When she embarked on this path, there were very few centers or qualified teachers for international exam preparation, but since then, things have changed, and more such professionals have emerged.
“This makes me happy because students in Romania need quality education,” Georgiana Popovici pointed out.
What differentiate her center from the others?
“What I believe sets me apart is my experience and passion. For over 20 years, I have been teaching daily, and for the past 5 years, I have been running the center. I dedicate most of my time to this profession, I deeply love my students, and I am grateful that I can help them achieve their dreams. My teaching philosophy is simple, and I’ve mentioned it before: mathematics must be understood through the lens of real-world connections”, she underlined.
Although Creative Learning Hub has only one HQs in Bucharest, students outside the Capital city can access it through online classes.
“For those in other cities, I offer the option of online lessons, as well as for those who may prefer to learn from the comfort of their own home. However, I place great value on in-person interaction between students and me; teamwork encourages them to be competitive, but in a positive way,” said Dr. Popovici.
