Criminal prosecution case related to Balc hunt

Bihor Police initiated criminal prosecution in the case of Balc hunt held the past weekend, after a man filed a complaint regarding how animals are treated and called 112. The traditional hunt in Balc organized by magnate Ion Țiriac started on Saturday and an incident was also reported.

According to the spokesperson of Bihor Police, a man from Brașov filed a criminal complaint at Marghita Police, asking police officers to probe into the way animals are treated. Policemen opened a criminal prosecution case and went on the scene to investigate things. The same man filing the notification also called 112.

As the domain in Balc is private property, the hunt there cannot knock under the Hunting Law.

The list of the high-ranking guests this year include Prince Dimitrie Sturdza, Eric Hampel, manager of Unicredit Bank Austria, Alfred Baumhauer, Cartier manufacturer, Wolfgang Porsche, the heir of Porsche empire, Klaus Mangold (Chrysler), Peter Rau, former financial expert at Philip Morris and Porsche, Siegfried Wolf, president of Magna Europa, Franz Rauch, the biggest natural juice producer in Europe, Rudolf Streicher, Austrian politician, former minister in several governments, famous Italian designer Stefano Ricci, tycoons Wolfram Zoller, Alexander Pappas andi Rafael Malo, Ukrainian politician Nestor Shuyfrych, businessman Arpad Sarkany from Covasna, Sorin Florea, former chief of the Bucharest Fraud Squad or Sandu Georgescu, the owner of one of the companies that implemented EADS system.

The hunts from Balc, a 150-hectare domain in Bihor County, became known in 2005, when 185 wild boars have been shot, 23 by former prime minister Adrian Nastase.
