Two more deaths beacause of flu have been confirmed late on Friday, with the death toll climbing to 90.
The latest victims confirmed were two women, one aged 79, the other aged 75, from Mures and Arad. The two women had other health problems and hadn’t been vaccinated against influenza.
The other victim confirmed with flu previously on Friday was a 17-year-old girl from Covasna County. The young woman was not vaccinated and had pre-existing medical conditions.
The death toll rate is almost three times more than during the last season.
The first death was confirmed in early January. Since then, the number of victims has increased from one day to the next. The balance sheet is worrying, 88 people have lost their lives because of the influenza. Most victims are from Iasi, Bucharest and Bihor.
The number of patients is also double against the same period last year, stiri.tvr.ro informs.
Since the beginning of the cold season, so far, 1,178 cases of influenza have been confirmed by the laboratory. More than one-third of the cases were registered in Bucharest, followed by Iaşi and Constanţa.
