The number of people who died due to influenza has reached 45, National Centre for Disease Supervision and Control (CNSCBT) with the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) has informed on Wednesday.
The last five people who died had pre-existing medical conditions and were not vaccinated against influenza.
Five women aged 78, 61, 57, 73, and 54 years old have died. Two of them are from Caraş-Severin County, two from Suceava County and one from Satu Mare.
On Tuesday the number of people who died of influenza had reached 39. According to romaniatv.net, a 55-year old woman in Brasov and a 61-year old woman in Constanta County have died on Monday, both being confirmed with influenza virus type A.
Earlier on Tuesday, CNSCBT informed that other two people died. The demised were a 61-year-old woman in Bihor County and a 84-year-old man in Salaj County, who haven’t been vaccinated and had pre-existing medical conditions.
On Monday, INSP announced that three more deaths caused by the influenza virus have been confirmed, namely a 75-year-old man in Mures County and two women in Arges County and Bucharest.
