December 1: Over 2,400 military march in the National Day military parade in Bucharest

Over 2,400 military personnel and specialists from the Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Romanian Customs Authority, Romanian Intelligence Service, Special Telecommunications Service, and National Administration of Penitentiaries are participating on Friday in the military parade organized in Triumph Arch Square in Bucharest on the occasion of Romania’s National Day.

It is estimated that a total of 100,000 people attended the parade, marking the highest recorded attendance.

At the military parade, the military equipment parade consisted of approximately 150 technical means. About 250 foreign soldiers will march in the parade, as part of detachments from Belgium, France, North Macedonia, Moldova, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Spain, the United States of America, and the Netherlands, as well as soldiers from NATO-contributing allied countries on Romania’s territory. Foreign soldiers are present with 23 technical means. Planes and helicopters will fly over Triumph Arch Square during the December 1st parade.

For the first time at this parade, French Leclerc tanks from the NATO Battle Group led by France in Romania, the new SMURD Black Hawk helicopters, as well as other combat armored vehicles, missile systems, and various types of F-16 aircraft will participate.

After the official ceremony, the audience present in Triumph Arch Square will be able to visit exhibition stands with military equipment, which will be placed in the area until 2:00 PM. The celebration of the 105 years since the Great Union of the Romanian provinces into a single state is honored by Romanian soldiers through ceremonies and parades with personnel and military equipment in garrisons across the country where large units and military units are stationed. At the same time, the national flag will be hoisted in all military institutions in the country, and on maritime and river vessels, the Grand Pavoaz will be raised.

In Alba Iulia Garrison, starting at 2:00 PM, at the ‘Great Union’ Monument, wreaths and flower arrangements will be laid, followed by the military ceremony at 3:00 PM in the area of December 1st, 1918 Boulevard, which will be attended by over 1,000 military personnel and specialists from the Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Internal Affairs, National Administration of Penitentiaries, specialists from the National Museum of the Union in Alba Iulia, and the Alba-Iulia Branch of the Romanian Red Cross organization, with approximately 70 ground technical means and military aircraft. The parade will include soldiers and combat equipment from Poland and France, which are operating in our country within the Southeast Multinational Brigade and the NATO Task Force at Cincu.
