The National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) has asked the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) on Monday for a firm reaction against the unprecedented attacks aiming at the anticorruption prosecutors and has pleaded for stronger mechanisms to counter these attacks coming from some media trusts, partisans of political currents or supporters of some business groups with joint interests with convicted persons.

In a release on Monday, DNA says it has “launched an appeal asking the CSM members to have a firm reaction against the unprecedented attacks aiming at anticorruption prosecutors.”

DNA underlines the “unprecedented” way in which “media trusts, partisans to political currents or to business interests, together with convicted persons or under the DNA investigation, are conducting on daily basis countless public statements and comments, by which the DNA prosecutors are stigmatized, slandered, aspects of their private life are revealed.”
