DNA’s Kovesi, heard by CSM, aimed by Judicial Inspectorate’s disciplinary actions
The National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) chief prosecutor, Laura Codruta Kovesi, was heard on Wednesday by the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) prosecutors section, a step further after the commencement of two disciplinary actions by the Judicial Inspectorate since April. The actions were related to her refusal to turn up to the parliamentary committee’s hearings on the 2009 presidential elections and to the appointment of judge Dana Titian to conduct checks on two territorial services.
Overall, Kovesi has three disciplinary actions ongoing.
After two hours, Kovesi left the CSM offices, without making any statement, ziare.com reports.
Regarding the presence required by the parliamentary committee, the inspectors argue that by not delivering the requested information, Kovesi has affected the professional honour and the prestige of magistrates.
