Doctor and a nurse get suspended sentence for receiving bribes from… 240 people
A doctor and a nurse in Maramureş County have received a suspended sentence for bribe taking after they received in 2017 money or other goods from about 240 people, including from the beneficiaries of disability pensions.
The Cluj Court of Appeals has sentenced Marian Miter, primary care physician and social security expert with the Medical Expert Committee of the Maramureş County Pension House, to three years in prison with suspended custody, a 4-year probationary period and a ban of certain rights, for committing the offense of bribe taking, hotnews.ro informs.
Floarea Mestic, typist secretary and nurse with the Medical Expertise and Recovery Labour Office in Sighetu Marmaţiei was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months imprisonment with suspended custody, 3 years probationary period and the banning of some rights, for committing the offense of bribe taking, a communiqué of the Maramureş County Anticorruption Service reads.
