Russian forces resumed a series of drone attacks on civilian targets and port infrastructure in Ukraine on Friday morning, near the border with Romania, in Tulcea County, according to the Ministry of National Defense (MApN).
The Ministry of National Defense has raised two fighter jets in the air to monitor the situation. Traces of a possible crashed drone were discovered in the area of Plauru.
The monitoring and surveillance systems of the MApN reported violations of Romanian airspace and, following this situation, starting at 1:35 a.m., two F-16 aircraft of the Romanian Air Force, part of the Air Police Combat Service, took off from the 86th Air Base in Borcea to monitor the air situation, the ministry reported. The aircraft returned to base around 3:48 a.m.
The National Military Command Center (core) notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations regarding the establishment of alerting measures for the population in Tulcea County.

The remains of the drone bear the inscription “Gheran 2”, a Russian model copied from the Iranian Shahed 136 drones
As a result, an RO-Alert message was sent at around 1:45 a.m., and at 3:30 a.m. the termination of alerting measures was declared in all targeted areas.
The message was sent by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) at around 01:46, and the population was urged to take shelter in safe areas for the next 90 minutes. “The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations issued an RO-alert message last night informing the population in the northern area of Tulcea County about the possibility of objects falling from the airspace, in the border area of Romania with Ukraine. The warning was sent following information received from the MApN,” an IGSU statement released on Friday morning said. Shortly after the message was sent, Tulcea residents could hear the specific noises of airplanes flying over the national airspace.
The Ministry of Defense stated that the ministry’s teams carried out field research and discovered, outside the Plauru locality (between Ceatalchioi and Tudor Vladimirescu), near the border, “traces of a possible drone impact”. According to the cited source, the area has been secured, and teams formed by specialists from the Ministry of Defense, the Romanian Intelligence Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will collect evidence and conduct investigations according to procedures.
