An earthquake with the magnitude of 4.6 on Richter scale has shaken Vrancea region at 12.24h on Wednesday, at the depth of 128 km. Initially the quake was considered of 4.7 degrees magnitude, but was revised.
At 12.24:49, Romania’s time, an earthquake occurred in seismic region Vrancea, Vrancea County, with magnitude of 4.6 on Richter scale, at the depth of 140 km. The intensity in the epicentre was of III degrees on Mercalli scale, the National Institute for Research and development for Earth Physics (INCDFP) informed.
The quake occurred near the cities of Nehoiu (42 km), Covasna (45 km), Slănic-Moldova (52km), Odobeşti(55km), Târgu Secuiesc(56km).
A quake of magnitude 3.4 on Richter scale occurred last month in Vrancea region, at the depth of 82.8 km.
