Olympic medals for the Romanian robotics team at Global Robotics Olympiad – Singapore 2023
Romanian robotics team, Team Romania – Delta Force – returns with two Olympic medals and two prizes from the First Global Challenge – Global Robotics Olympiad – Singapore 2023.
The Robotics Team of Romania won the bronze medal for innovation in engineering at the World Robotics Olympiad FIRST Global Challenge, category “Ustad Ahmad Lahori Award for Innovation in Engineering”, presenting a creative and innovative project in the competition and convincing the jury that the robot built it was a technical solution worthy of consideration! The robot invented by the team members proved to be highly appreciated by the jurors, here the education and information accumulated by the students in the National High School of Informatics in Arad can be found!
Team Romania received the silver medal – the “Al-Khwarizmi Award for Outstanding Supporter” and for the outstanding supporters that the team had by their side, the joint effort made by Romania being noted by the Olympic jury.
Beyond these two Olympic medals, Team Romania – Delta Force – comes home with two more unique prizes. The team was rewarded with the “Social Media Challenge Award” for the activity carried out in the online environment. The team fulfilled all 10 challenges launched by the organizers, their enthusiasm, and that of those who follow them online, being rewarded.
Team Romania also received the “Safety Award” title, awarded to teams that have proven to be an example in respecting all safety rules when it comes to working with robots.
The team consists of the following students: Mihai Ozarchevici, Norbert Leucuța, Adrian Albota, Vlad Crețu, Briana Lucaci, Sebastian Dochița, Aaron Tulcan, Ruxandra Cibotariu, Andrei Gabor, Radu Bulzan, Denis Demeter, Andrei Ianis Oțoiu, Bogdan Barna.
“At the closing of the First Global Challenge Singapore 2023, we dedicate all these awards and medals to those who have been with us in a unique adventure: five days of cultural experiences, technological challenges, collaboration with other countries, where we promoted the concept of STEM : science, technology, engineering and mathematics!”, said the students from Arad.
Team Romania – Delta Force – is coordinated by 4 mentors: Octavian Dragoș-Botoșan, Corina Dragoș-Botoșan, Aida Pero, Prof. Florin Barna.
The team benefits from the support and guidance of Alumni members: Sebastian Măcean, Radu Micle – students, who stayed with the team with which they won the title of world robotics champions in 2022, in Texas, USA.
