Romania Wins 3 Golds, 2 Silvers at 54th Physics Olympiad in Iran

The Ministry of Education announces, Sunday evening, that Romania won three gold and two silver medals at the 54th edition of the International Physics Olympiad. “During July 21-29, 2024, the 54th edition of the International Physics Olympiad took place in Isfahan, Iran. Students from 46 countries of the world participated in this edition”, the Ministry of Education said on Sunday evening.

Romania participated with a complete team (5 students and 2 leaders), and the results obtained by the Romanian students were exceptional, keeping Romania at the top of the international ranking.

The results obtained by the Romanian competitors, students at the International Theoretical High School of Informatics (ICHB), Bucharest, are as follows: Andrei Dragomir – gold medal Alexandru Momoiu – gold medal Ionuţ Stan – gold medal Mendel Mendelsohn – silver medal Felix Tudose – silver medal.

The Romanian team had the leaders Mrs. Prof. Dr. Delia Davidescu, from the International Theoretical High School of Informatics, Bucharest and Mr. Assoc. Univ. Dr. Sebastian Popescu, from the Faculty of Physics, “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University in Iasi.
