Romania won 6 medals at the International Mathematics Olympiad

Romania won one gold medal, four silver medals, and one bronze medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad, the Ministry of Education announced a few days ago.

The 65th International Mathematical Olympiad was held from July 11-22, 2024, in Bath, United Kingdom.

The results obtained by the six students on our team are:

🥇 Gold Medal: Pavel Ciurea from the International Computer High School of Bucharest (ICHB);

🥈 Silver Medals: Andrei Vila, David-Andrei Anghel, Vlad-Titus Spǎtaru from the International Computer High School of Bucharest and Andrei-Giovani Chiriță from the “Tudor Vianu” National College of Computer Science in Bucharest;

🥉 Bronze Medal: Aida Mitroi from the International Computer High School of Bucharest.

The Romanian delegation was coordinated by Associate Professor Dr. Cătălin-Liviu Gherghe from the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Bucharest (Leader), Lecturer Dr. Mihai Chiș from the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the West University of Timișoara (Deputy Leader), and Lucian Țurea from the Romanian Mathematical Society.
