Emergency landing at Otopeni Airport due to sick passenger

A Boeing aircraft, belonging to the Sunexpress Deutschland company, on route from Hannover to Adana (Turkey), requested an emergency landing at Otopeni (Henri Coanda) Airport at about 22.00h on Tuesday, due to a passenger suspected of having a heart attack.

After landing at Henri Coanda Airport at 22.47, the airport’s emergency medical crew boarded the aircraft and managed to stabilize the 44-year-old passenger, said Theodor Postelnicu, spokesman for the Bucharest National Airports Company (CNAB).

The patient was then transported to one of the emergency hospitals in Bucharest and the aircraft took off to the destination during the night.

Air traffic at Henri Coanda Airport was not affected by this incident.
