The former shareholder of Dinamo Bucharest football club, Cristian Borcea, will be released on parole from prison, Ilfov Tribunal has ruled on Monday. The ruling is final.

The businessman will thus leave the Jilava Penitentiary, where he has served jail time since 2014, after he had been sentenced to six years and four months behind bars in the file related to the football players’ transfers.

The ruling of the Ilfov Tribunal comes after the court has overruled Borcea’s request for release on parole twice so far. Magistrates argued in the overruling reasoning that the time spent by Borcea in detention is not enough, also rejecting his complaint that he has seven children who need their father, on the ground that Borcea will actually leave with his mother and not with any of his children.
