Extended Orange Code for heat wave during August 11-12
[sam id=”5″ codes=”true”]The Orange Code for heat wave has been extended to 10 counties for August 11-12. Temperatures will reach 38 degrees C, while thermal discomfort will be high.
On Tuesday and Wednesday the heat wave will intensify and will include all regions. Maximum temperatures will regularly reach 35 degrees C and in isolated areas 37-38 degrees C, while the temperature-humidity index (THI) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units in the plains and plateaus. Except for the ten counties, the rest of Romania is under Yellow Code.
According to the National Meteorological Administration the heat wave will persist in the coming days.
