Foreign Ministry warns over wildfires in Rhodes
After the tragic storm hitting Halkidiki region that claimed at last 6 lives, including the ones of two Romanians, the Foreign Ministry has warned today over another risk in Greece: wildfires.
The Romanian diplomats informed Romanian tourists who are or intend to travel to Greece in the upcoming period that the Greek authorities are warning over the high risk of wildfires (fourth degree out of five) today, mainly in the island of Rhodes, due to high temperatures and wind.
Romanian citizens can ask for consular assistance at the Romanian Embassy in Athens: +30 210 6728879 or +30 6978996222, as well as at Romania’s General Consulate in Thessaloniki: +306906479076.
Greece has been struggling with wildfires for years. Last year, the situation was really serious, at least 70 people died.
