Foreign Ministry warns Romanians travelling to France to be more cautious
The Romanian Foreign Ministry (MAE) issued a travelling warning for Romanian citizens travelling to France, especially in or around Paris, to be more cautious after the maximum alert set for northern France.
‘The Foreign Affairs Ministry reminds that the French authorities have decided to set up the security alert for northern France, thus it recommends the Romanian citizens travelling to France or who already are on French territory, especially in the Paris area (Ile-de-France and Picardie) to be more cautious,” the release issued on Friday reads.
MAE draws attention that transportation means, such as the underground and the trains could be restricted by the French Police. Security measures were increased in commercial centres, public institutions and tourist sites.
Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu has sent on Wednesday a message of condolences to his French counterpart Laurent Fabius, expressing his shock over the terrorist attack at the offices of ‘Charlie Hebdo’ magazine in Paris.
