French paraglider crashes in Vrancea County, survives and walks 20 km to reach guest house
A French paraglider disappeared Sunday evening, while flying from Brasov to Comandau, and was searched for since then.
He was found on Monday, at a guest house in Grecu, Vrancea County, with cervical pains, ziare.com reports.
“The French paraglider was found conscious at a guest house in Gresu, Vrancea County. Two SMURD ambulances arrived at the site, one from Targu Secuiesc, Covasna County and another one from Vidra, Vrancea County. He has cervical pains. After the first medical treatment, he will be taken over to the Emergency Care Unit in Focsani,” the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) Covasna informs.
The rescuers say he crashed in a forest and walked about 20 km to reach an inhabited area and contact the rescuers.
Several rescue teams, of over 40 military firefighters, policemen, mountain rescuers searched for the lost Frenchman Sunday evening until Monday morning at 5.00h. At 7.00h the searches were resumed by 70 military firefighters from ISU Covasna and ISU Brasov, gendarmes, policemen, mountain rescuers.
