General Prosecutor’s Office says legal conditions are to met to declassify protocol with SRI

General Prosecutor’s Office has announced that the analysis on declassifying the protocol concluded with the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) shows that the legal conditions in force are met to declassify the document.

The Public Ministry has concluded the analysis on the declassifying procedure and the conclusion is that legal provisions in force are met to declassify the above-mentioned document. At present, considering the analysis’ conclusion, the Public Ministry is waiting for the SRI’s stance, as the declassification procedure of the legal documents stipulates. We remind that the protocol has been concluded within the legislation in force on the date of the signing, within the limit and authority stipulated in the law,” reads a Prosecutor’s Office’s press release.

According to Claudiu Manda, the chairman of the committee on SRI control, the SRI director voiced agreement for the declassification of the protocol with the General Prosecutor’s Office.
