German med couple studying in Cluj, banished from Romania
The Bucharest Court of Appeal decided to expel two German students from Romania. The two, husband and wife, were students at the Medicine Faculty in Cluj-Napoca. Romanian authorities say the two would have got radicalized and would have planned to leave in Syria, to join the Islamic State.
The Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) proposed they would be banished from Romania.
The man has double citizenship, German and Syrian and come to study in Romania in 2014. His wife is a German citizen and has been studying medicine in Cluj since last year.
