Gold, Silver, and Two Bronzes for Romanian Students at Earth Science Olympiad

Four Romanian students managed to get places on the podium at the “Earth Sciences” International Olympiad, which took place from August 8-16 in China. The Romanian delegation returns home with one gold, one silver and two bronze medals. The four medal students are from Cluj-Napoca, Ploiesti, Timișoara and Iași:

  • Neag Tudor Brendan, National College “Emil Racoviță” Cluj-Napoca, gold medal;
  • Bodor Darius Andrei, National College “Mihai Viteazul” Ploiesti, silver medal;
  • Balcu Antonia Ioana, Theoretical High School “Grigore Moisil” Timisoara, bronze medal;
  • Luchian Maria Anemona, Iasi National College, bronze medal.
The Romanian team was led by Cătălina Șerban, school inspector within the School Inspectorate of the Municipality of Bucharest (ISMB) and Cristina Pârvu, who is an advisor at the National Center for Policies and Evaluation in Education (CNPEE), the Ministry of Education reported.
