The Government has decided that April 30, 2019 would be a day off for public sector employees, given that Wednesday, May 1, is a non-working day, according to the Labour Code. On April 28 and 29 the Orthodox Christians celebrate Easter.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Justice has sent a press release indicating that the measure aims the recovery of employees’ work capacity and for the stimulation of tourism.
The provisions of the normative act do not apply to workplaces where the activity cannot be interrupted.
For the recovery of 30 April, public institutions will extend their working hours by May 31, according to the established plans.
