Gov’t gives green light to expropriations for the Metro Line 6

The Government has approved in its Thursday sitting to start the expropriation proceedings of the buildings on the route of the upcoming Metro Line 6 in Bucharest, linking Gara de Nord to Henri Coanda (Otopeni) International Airport.

The individual sums estimated for the compensations mount to RON 62.8 M.

“The individual sums estimated by the expropriator for compensations mount to RON 62.8 M, representing compensations for 42 buildings stretching on an area of 39,160 sqm. The funds are allotted from the state budget, through the Ministry of Transports,” reads Gov’t press release.

The houses to be expropriated are in District 1, Bucharest and in Otopeni town, Ilfov county.

Theoretically, the Metro Line 6, which comprises stations at Romexpo Exhibition Center and Baneasa Shopping Centre, is said to be ready in 2021.
