Health Ministry will notify the National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA) over irregularities tracked down at the County Hospital in Targu Mures. Following the check conducted in the hospital, Health ministry officials found out that Hexi Pharma and Al Carina companies had been favored when being assigned contracts as distributors. Irregularities have also been found related to EU funds.

The control body of the Health Ministry checked the county hospital in Targu Mures and found out several irregularities related to the medical unit’s disinfectants acquisitions this year. Although the acquisitions were by open public sale, more companies have been restricted to join the bid, while Hexi Pharma and Al Carina were favored.

“They introduced extra quality standards among the requirements in an unjustified, wrong way,” the investigators argued.

At the same time, the mandatory standards haven’t been required for other disinfectants, but they have just bee replaced by others.

Irregularities were also found at the rehabilitation works at the hospital’s ambulatory by accessing European funds through the Regional Operational Programme.

The investigation came up following the disinfectants scandal used in hospitals. According to the Health ministry, the most expensive contract for disinfectants purchase, worth RON 10 M, was clinched between the County Hospital in Targu Mures and Al Carina company.
