0.91% Covid infection rate in Romania, new 52 infections in the past 24hrs

There have been 52 new Covid-19 infections reported in Romania in the past 24 hours, out of 26,674 conducted tests. The infection rate stands at 0.91%.

Authorities have reported other 181 deaths due to the coronavirus in the past day, with 177 being from the previous months. 73 patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 are in intensive care.

There have been 1,080,792 cases of people infected with coronavirus in Romania since the debut of the pandemic till today, June 30, 2021, with 1,045,351 patients declared cured.

The death toll mounts to 33,786, with 181 new more deaths reported in the past 24 hours: 109 men and 72 women from Alba, Bacău, Brașov, Cluj, Galați, Giurgiu, Harghita, Ialomița, Mureș, Prahova, Sălaj, Suceava, Teleorman and Bucharest.

177 of the recently reported death occurred in the previous months: one death in April 2020, 10 deaths in October 2020, 46 in November 2020, 44 in December 2020, 21 in January 2021, seven in February 2021, 21 in March 2021, 21 in April 2021 and six in May this year in such counties as Alba, Brașov, Cluj, Galați, Giurgiu, Harghita, Ialomița, Mureș, Prahova, Sălaj, Suceava, Teleorman and Bucharest.

One death was reported in the 10-19 age group, one death in the 30-39 age group, four deaths in the 40-49 age group, nine deaths in the 50-59 age category, 37 deaths among people aged 60 to 69, 68 deaths among patients aged 70 to 79 and 61 deaths among elderly over 80.

167 of the recently reported victims had underlying medical conditions, 11 dead patients presented no comorbidity, while no other diseases have been reported so far in the case of three other victims.

450 Romanians infected with SARS-CoV-2 are currently hospitalized, with 73 in the intensive care units.
