103 new Covid-19 infections have been reported in Romania in the past 24 hours put of 29,633 conducted tests. 10 Romanians infected with the novel coronavirus have died in the past day. 86 deaths from the previous months have also been reported today.
Overall, there have been 1,079,879 people infected with SARS-CoV-2 in Romania since the beginning of the pandemic till today, June 15, with 1,044,563 patients being declared cured.
Separate from the newly confirmed cases, other 65 already infected patients have tested positive again following retesting.
The death toll surged to 31,957, with 96 deaths reported in the past 24 hours: 66 men and 30 women from Argeș, Bihor, Buzău, Caraș-Severin, Călărași, Cluj, Harghita, Ialomița, Iași, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu and Bucharest.
86 of these deaths occurred in the previous months and only ten in the past 24 hours: two deaths occurred in July 2020, one in August 2020, one in October 2020, nine in November 2020, 19 in December 2020, 15 in January 2021, 11 in February 2021, 19 in March 2021, five deaths in April 2021 and four in May 2021 in the counties of Argeș, Bihor, Buzău, Cluj, Harghita, Ialomița, Iași and Olt.
Among those recently reported deaths, one was in the 20-29 age group, two in the 30-39 age group, three in the 40-49 age group, five in the 50-59 age category, 20 deaths among people aged 60 to 69, 32 in patients aged 70 to 79 and 33 deaths among patients over 80.
90 of the recently reported victims had pre-existing medical conditions, while six others presented no comorbidity.
1,037 Romanians infected with SARS-CoV-2 are currently hospitalized, with 202 in intensive care.
