137 new Covid-19 infections have been reported in Romania in the past 24 hours, out of 12,601 conducted tests, with the infection rate surging to 1.08%. Five deaths gave been also reported in the past day, while 63 patients infected with the novel coronavirus are in intensive care, more by four than in the previous day.
1,083,478 cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 have been confirmed in Romania since the debut of the pandemic till today, August 2, 2021, with 1,047,778 patients declared cured.
The death toll climbed to 34,291, with five more deaths reported in the past 24 hours: two men and three women admitted in hospitals in Călărași, Cluj, Neamț, Satu Mare and Timiș.
One was in the 50-59 age group, one in the 60-69 age group, one in a patient aged 70 to 79 and two in people over 80. All recent victims had pre-existing conditions.
433 Romanians infected with SARS-CoV-2 are currently hospitalized, with 63 in intensive care.
