1,550 new Covid-19 cases and 154 deaths in the past 24hrs

The Strategic Communication Group has announced on Monday that there have been 1,550 new Covid-19 infections reporte din Romania in the past 24 hours.

At the same time 154 Covid-related deaths have been reported. 29 of these recently reported deaths occurred in the previous weeks.

There have been 1,764,251 coronavirus infections have been reported in Romania since the beginning of the pandemic till today, November 22, with 10,067 being patients reinfected with SARS-CoV-2 after more than 6 months since the first infection.

The death toll climbed to 55,113, with 154 new more deaths reported in the last 24 hours: 80 men and 74 women from Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Brăila, Buzău, Călărași, Cluj, Constanța, Dolj, Giurgiu, Gorj, Harghita, Iași, Ilfov, Mehedinți, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Sălaj, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Vaslui, Vâlcea and Bucharest.  One of them was infected in France and died in Mehedinti county.

29 of these victims died in the previous weeks (October and November), in Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Giurgiu, Ilfov, Iași, Neamț, Vaslui and Bucharest.

Among the recently 154 deaths, two were in the 30-39 age group, 10 in the 40-49 age group, 16 in the 50-59 age group, 37 in the 60-69 age group, 54 in the 70-79 age group and 35 in people over 80.

143 of the recently reported victim had comorbidities, two had no other pre-existing conditions, while no other diseases have been reported so far in case of nine other dead patients.

Among the 154 dead patients, 130 were not vaccinated and 24 were vaccinated. Those 24 vaccinated dead patients were aged from 50 to 80 and they all had comorbidities.

11,116 Romanians infected with SARS-CoV-2 are currently hospitalized, with 1,539 in intensive care. 164 of the hospitalized Covid patients are children, with 14 in ICU.
