17,036 of Coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Romania so far until May 18, with 165 new cases reported in the past 24 hours. 1,107 people have died, while 9,930 recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

There are 193 patients currently in intensive care.

Suceava remains the county with the most cases- 3,448,  Bucharest ranks second- 1,644, while Neamt takes the third place- 834.

Braila and Valcea are the counties with the fewest number of infections- 20 and 27 respectively.

2,920 Romanians living abroad have been infected with the novel coronavirus, most of them in Italy- 1,698, in Spain-561 and in Germany- 484. Other 87 have been reported with COVID-19 in UK, 30 in France, 28 in The Netherlands.
