1,768 new Covid-19 infections have been reported in Romania in the past 24 hours, out of 11,915 conducted tests, which means the positive trend of the testing is 14.8%. 149 Romanians infected with SARS-CoV-2 have died in the last day, while 1,448 patients infected with the virus are in intensive care.
Overall, there have been 1,031,072 people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania since the debut of the pandemic, with 944,774 patients being declared cured.
The death toll surged to 26,381, with 149 new more deaths reported in the past 24 hours: 91 men and 58 women from Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Călărași, Cluj, Constanța, Dolj, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Prahova, Sălaj, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Teleorman, Timiș, Vaslui, Vâlcea, Ilfov and Bucharest.
One death was reported in the 30-39 age group, four deaths in the 40-49 age category, 13 deaths among patients aged 50 to 59, 31 deaths in the 60-69 age group, 53 deaths in patients aged 70 to 79 and 47 deaths among elderly over 80.
147 of the recent victims had pre-existing conditions, one victim presented no comorbidity, while no other diseases have been reported so far in the case of another one.
12,510 people infected with the novel coronavirus are currently hospitalized across Romania, with 1,448 in intensive care.
