307 new Covid-19 infections have been reported in Romania in the past 24 hours. 39 Romanians infected with SARS-CoV-2 have died in the last day, while other 485 are in a more serious condition, admitted in intensive care.
Overall, there have been 1,076,840 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania since the debut of the pandemic, with 1,036,646 declared cured.
The death toll surged to 30,131, with 39 new more deaths reported in the pats 24 hours: 21 men and 18 women from Alba, Argeș, Arad, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Brașov, Brăila, Buzău, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Gorj, Harghita, Iași, Mureș, Neamț, Prahova, Satu Mare, Timiș and Vâlcea.
Three deaths were reported in the 50-59 age group, eight deaths in the 60-69 age group, 14 deaths in the 70-79 age category and 14 deaths among patients over 80.
All recent victims reported pre-existing conditions.
2,841 people infected with SARS-CoV-2 are currently hospitalized throughout the country, with 485 in intensive care.
Declining infection rate, number of new infections
The cumulated incidence of COVID-19 cases in the past 14 days stands at 0.46 per 1,000 inhabitants countrywide, with the highest infection rate reported in Alba – 0.75, and the lowest in Gorj – 0.12.
The infection rate is 0.5 in Bucharest.
