68 new Covid-19 infections have been reported in Romania in the past 24 hours, with the total balance sheet mounting 1,080,457 since the beginning of the pandemic and with 1,045,303 patients declared cured.
According to the official statistics, 17,941 RT-PCR tests have been conducted in the past day and 10,653 rapid tests.
145 deaths due to SARS-CoV-2 have been reported in the past 24 hours, with 138 occurring in the previous months and 7 in the past 24 hrs.
The death toll mounts to 32,771, with 145 new deaths reported today: 86 men and 59 women from Alba, Bihor,  Brașov, Buzău, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Galați, Harghita, Iași, Ilfov, Maramureș, Olt, Satu Mare, Sălaj, Sibiu, Vâlcea and Bucharest.

138 of the recently reported deaths occurred in the previous months: one death in July 2020, one in August 2020, two in September 2020, four in October 2020, 18 in November 2020, 56 in December 2020, 14 in January 2021, six in February 2021, 15 in March 2021, 13 in April 2021 and eight in May 2021 in the counties of Alba, Brașov, Buzău,  Cluj, Constanța, Galați, Harghita, Ilfov, Maramureș, Olt, Sălaj, Sibiu, Vâlcea and Bucharest.

Two deaths were reported in the 30-39 age group, three in the 40-49 age group, 11 in the 50-59 age category, 39 deaths in the 60-69 category, 46 among people aged 70 to 79 and 44 deaths in patients over 80.

129 of the recently reported victims had underlying medical conditions and 16 victims were reported with no comorbidity.

611 Romanians infected with SARS-CoV-2 are currently hospitalized, with 125 in intensive care.
