779 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Romania in the past 24 hours out of 6,607 conducted tests. 29 people infected with Covid-19 have died in the past day and 476 patients are currently in intensive care.
Overall, there have been 62,547 cases of the novel coronavirus registered in Romania since the start of the pandemic.
30,311 patients were declared cured and 6,497 were asymptomatic.
Apart of the 779 newly confirmed cases, 326 people who were already infected with SARS – CoV – 2 were reconfirmed positive following retesting.
The death toll mounted to 2,729, with 29 new deaths reported in the past 24 hours: 18 men and 11 women from Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Brăila, Buzău, Dâmbovița, Galați, Gorj, Hunedoara, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Vâlcea, Vaslui and Bucharest.
One patient who died was in the 20-29 age group, one in the 30-39 age group, one in the 40-49 age group and two in the 50-59 age group. The rest were aged from 60 to over 80.
28 patients who have recently died had underlying conditions, while one was not known with any other disease.
Overall, there are 7,763 patients with Covid admitted across hospitals in Romania at present, with 476 in intensive care units.
