3,697 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Romania in the past 24 hours, out of 23,667 tests. 156 Romanians infected with the novel coronavirus have died in the last day, while 1,073 patients are in a more serious condition in intensive care.
Overall, 676,968 people have been infected with SARS-CoV-2 in Romania since the beginning of the pandemic, with 605,045 being declared cured.
The death toll climbed to 16,881, with 156 new more deaths reported in the past 24 hours: 105 men and 51 women from Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vâlcea, Vrancea and Bucharest.
Three deaths were reported in the 30-39 age group, two deaths in the 40-49 age group, nine deaths in the 50-59 age group, 36 deaths in the 60-69 age group, 69 deaths in the 70-79 group and 37 deaths in patients over 80.
147 of the latest victims had pre-existing medical conditions, one patient presented no comorbidity and no other diseases have been detected so far in case of eight other victims.

Infection rates
Arad, Botoșani, Călărași and Iași are back “in the green area”, reporting incidence rates lower than 1.5/1,000 inhabitants.
