4,916 new cases of novel coronavirus have been reported in Romania in the past 24 hours, following 15,710 tests, which means an infection rate of over 30 percent.
135 people infected with SARS-CoV-2 have died in the past 24 hours, while 1,260 are in intensive care, with a new record high being reported.
The total tally has reached 484,550 cases.
Separate from the 4,916 newly confirmed cases, 822 other patients already infected have tested positive again for the virus.
The death toll surged to 11,665, with 135 new more deaths reported in the past 24 hours: 84 men and 51 women from Alba, Argeș, Arad, Bacău, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Buzău, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Olt, Prahova, Sălaj, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Ilfov and Bucharest.
2 deaths have been reported in the 30-39 age group, 3 deaths in the 40-49 age group, 9 deaths in the 50-59 age group, 31 deaths in the 60-69 age group, 41 deaths in the 70-79 age group and 49 deaths in people over 80.
123 of the recent victims had pre-existing medical conditions, 7 dead patients presented no comorbidity, while no other diseases have been reported so far in the case of 5 other victims.
13,529 Romanians infected with the novel coronavirus are currently hospitalized all through the country, with 1,260 in intensive care.
