Focsani might be a new Coronavirus outbreak in Romania, after 35 representatives of the medical staff of the Miliary Hospital in the city are infected and there were several cases also reported at the County Hospital and at the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.
Health minister Nelu Tataru told B1TV that the manager of the Focsani County Hospital, confirmed positive himself with COVID-19 is missing, reportedly in self-isolation in a hotel and moreover, he would have taken with him documents and laptops from his hospital office. The minister said that a military management will be imposed there, too.
“We have several small outbreaks that tend to converge. It is a community extended spread, with a core at the Military Hospital where 35 doctors and nurses are infected, we also had coronavirus case at the Gendarmerie, at the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations and at the County Hospital, where the manager included has tested positive for COVID-19. Now he is missing, he closed his office, took laptops, documents and he is in self-isolation in a hotel. Considering the medical situation, we’ll have a new management there, a military one”, the minister said,
The minister also said that the small outbreaks in Focsani must be isolated, and the contacts must be identified.
