8,500 teenagers aged 12 to 15 have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in Romania so far since June 2, when the vaccination for these age groups has started.

Romania is the first EU country that has kicked off the vaccination among children aged 12 to 15.

Overall, more than 123,500 children and youngsters aged 12 to 19 have been vaccinated in Romania so far.
The online vaccination platform has been optimized since June 1 to allow the appointment of children aged 12 to 15 through their parents’ account.

The vaccination scheme and the appointment are similar as in the case of the adult population.
Children aged 12 to 15 are vaccinated with Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty). The parents’ consent is mandatory.
