Only 26 new Covid-19 infections reported in the past 24hrs
There have been only 26 new Covid-19 infections reported in Romania in the past 24 hours, out of 9,429 conducted tests. Authorities have also reported 65 new more deaths due to the coronavirus infection, with 61 occurring in the previous months. There are 158 patients with Covid-19 in intensive care.
There have been 1,080,282 people infected with SARS-CoV-2 in Romania since the debut of the pandemic till today, June 21, 2021, with 1,045,207 patients being declared cured.
The death toll mounts to 32,391, with 65 new more deaths reported in the past day: 36 men and 29 women from Arad, Argeș, Botoșani, Brăila, Dolj, Harghita, Maramureș and Prahova.
Yet, only four deaths occurred in the past 24 hours, the rest of 61 being from the previous months: one in May 2020, one in August 2020, three in October 2020, 48 in November 2020, six in December 2020 and two in March 2021 in Argeș, Botoșani, Harghita and Maramureș.
One death was reported in the 30-39 age group, six in the 40-49 age group, seven in the 50-59 age group, 12 deaths in the 60-69 age category, 23 among patients aged 70 to 79 and 16 in people older than 80.
57 of the recently reported victims had pre-existing conditions, seven dead patients presented no comorbidity, while no other diseases have been reported so far in the case of another one victim.
759 patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 are currently hospitalized, with 158 in intensive care.
