Over 80% of the COVID-19 cases and 94.7% of the COVID deaths in Romania in the past week were in unvaccinated people, according to the latest data released by the National Public Health Institute.
August 16-22 week
- 41.8% of the total cases were in Bucharest, Cluj, Ilfov, Timiș and Constanța.
- 80.4% of the confirmed Covid infections involved unvaccinated people.
- 29.7% of the total Covid deaths were in Călărași, Iași, Caraș Severin, Constanța and Bucharest.
- 94.7% of the deaths involved unvaccinated people, and 4.0% had only one vaccine dose.
Since the beginning of pandemic till now:
- 1 in 77 of the total cases involved heath workers
- 86.1% of the total number of deaths involved people aged over 60
- 57.5% of the deaths involved men
- 94.6% of the deceased people had at least one associated disease.
