After three days that saw an all-time high of anti-COVID 19 vaccination in Romania and after restrictions for the unvaccinated came in force,  people kept on coming in large numbers to take the anti-Covid jab. A large queue was spotted in Obor Market vaccination center in Bucharest, where the line was so large that it surrounded the vaccination center several times.

More than 400 people have been vaccinated here on a daily basis this week, Digi24 reports. Most people have chosen Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which is administered in a single dose.

The representatives of the center recommend to those who want to avoid the crowds from Obor to go to another nearby center, on 9 Oituz Street, where there is less crowding.

Those who get vaccinated receive a voucher worth 100 lei that they can use at any supermarket to buy food.

“People who come now prefer Johnson & Johnson, as it is only a single dose. People who were vaccinated in the first stage and consulted with doctors want the Pfizer jab. The number is growing every day. People have come tot he conclusion that this vaccine is life-saving,” said Nejem Adnan, the centre’s coordinating doctor.

Doctor: Over 95% of people vaccinated who become infected with Covid do not have affected lungs

The medical director of the “Victor Babeș” Infectious Diseases and Pneumoftiziology Hospital in Timișoara, Diana Manolescu, said there are significant differences in terms of lung damage of vaccinated and unvaccinated patients.

According to the doctor, over 95% of vaccinated people, who are still infected with COVID-19, do not have affected lungs. The medical director of the “Victor Babeș” Hospital in Timișoara says that in the case of vaccinated people who still become infected with Covid, the percentage of those who suffer from lung damage is small.

“We noticed a significant difference, from an imagistic point of view, between the lungs of a patient vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2 and those of an unvaccinated patient. In more than 95 percent of vaccinated people, who still have a COVID-19 infection, there is no lung damage, while in the case of unvaccinated patients it starts at 30-40 percent and can increase in an extremely short time. , sometimes even for a few hours, up to 70-80, and even 85 percent “, said Diana Manolescu.
