There have been 1,151 new cases of COVID-19 infections reported in Romania in the past 24 hours out of 21,135 processed tests. At the same time, 33 deaths have been reported in the past day.
There have been 47,053 people with COVID-19 overall until today, July 28. Among them, 26,128 patients were declared cured and 3,716 developed no further symptoms.
Apart from the newly confirmed cases, 594 people have been reconfirmed positive with Covid-19 following retesting.
The death toll climbed to 2,239, with 33 new more deaths reported in the past 24 hours. The patients infected with the novel coronavirus who died in the past day were admitted in hospitals in Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bistrița-Năsăud, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Dâmbovița, Gorj, Hunedoara, Prahova, Sibiu, Vrancea and Bucharest.
Among the new deaths, one one reported in a young patient aged 29. 31 of the deaths were reported on patients who had other pre-existing medical conditions, while two were not known with any other disease.
Overall, there are 6,960 patients who tested positive for Covid-19 currently hospitalized in Romania. Among those, 357 are in intensive care, a number that is constantly on the rise from one day to another.
Almost 38% of the total deaths caused by Covid-19 and registered during July 20-26 took place in Bucharest and four other counties, according to the National Public Health Institute.
At the same time, over 37% of the infection cases is also reported in Bucharest and three counties- Prahova, Arges and Dambovita.
