Heat wave warning across the country for three days, temperatures to reach 38C

Meteorologists have issued a heat wave warning valid for July 12,13 and 14 countrywide with maximum temperatures of 35-37 degrees Celsius and, locally, in the Danube Delta, of 38 degrees Celsius.

The weather warning enters into into force on Tuesday and is valid until Thursday; during this interval warm weather will persist across the country.

In the first two days the heat will hit the west and southwest, where maximum temperatures will reach 35-37 degrees C. On Thursday, the heat wave will include the southern and central regions and in the Danube Valley record temperatures of 38 degrees C will be registered. Thermal discomfort will increase so that the temperature-humidity index (THI) will reach the critical threshold of 80 units on increasingly wider areas.

Meteorologists announce that in the second part of Thursday the degree of atmospheric instability will be gradually higher and thermal values will decrease significantly in most regions, except in the southeast where locally hot weather will persist on July 15.
