Heatwave back in Romania, temperatures up to 37C

Meteorologists have issued a new weather alert on Wednesday, announcing three days of extreme heat countrywide, with temperatures climbing up to 37C and the temperature-moisture index exceeding the critical threshold of 80 units in Bucharest.

The heat will mostly prevail in the plain areas across the entire country on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will mount to 35C – 37C in the western, northwestern, southern and southeastern country on Wednesday, and mainly in the south on Thursday and Friday.

The scorching heat will linger also on Saturday and Sunday.

The thermal discomfort will be very high in Bucharest in the upcoming three days, with the temperature-moisture index exceeding the critical threshold of 80 units, particularly downtown. Maximum temperatures will range from 35C to 37C.
