How many pupils passed their baccalaureate exam this year?

A third of the high school students failed to pass their Baccalaureate exam in the June-July session this year. Which means that 66.7% of them graduated high school. 137,300 pupils took their high school graduation exam, with 82,262 getting grades over 6, while 51,075 failed to get a 6. The results are similar to the ones last year.

There were 56 pupils obtaining only grades of 10 countrywide, with nine of them in Bucharest.

On counties, the highest graduation percentage was registered in Cluj (83.32%), Bacau (79.91%), Sibiu (77.69%) and Galati (77.65%).

In Bucharest there was a graduation percentage of 68.5%. The counties with the lowest graduation percentage, under 50% are Ilfov (34%), Teleorman (48.48%) and Giurgiu (40%).

Three colleges in Iasi posted a graduation rate of 100%, with two pupils getting only ten. The leading high schools are Costache Negruzzi, National College and Mihai Eminescu College.

On the opposite side, there were also high schools in Romania where no pupil passed the baccalaureate. It’s the case of two high schools in Sibiu: Iacobeni technological high school, where only one candidate gave the baccalaureate and “Transcom” technological high school where there were only two pupils gave the final examination.

Another three technological high schools in Constanta and a private high school in Petrosani also posted zero graduation rate following the Baccalaureate.
