Iconic Romanian actor Sebastian Papaiani has died on Tuesday aged 80 at his home. In May 2016 he had been hospitalized at the neurology section of the University Hospital in Bucharest following a stroke. Later on he was released from hospital to recover.
Sebastian Papaiani was born on August 25, 1936 in Piteşti, he graduated the Theatrical Arts and Cinematography Institute in 1960, debuting in the Geo Saizescu comedy ‘Un surâs în plină vară’ (1963).
He acted in countless movies and theatre plays. Some of the films are the series of BD (various cases brigade) as Sergeant Capsuna, ‘Asta seara dansam in familie’ along with great actor Dem Radulescu, ‘Pacala’ and the series opened by ‘Toamna bobocilor’ as Pompei.
On December 13, 2002 he was awarded the National Order Faithful Service in the rank of Knight. Papaiani also has a star on his name on the Walk of Fame Bucharest.
