Inmate threatens to kill President Iohannis

An inmate imprisoned at Aiud Penitentiary has sent a life threat to President Klaus Iohannis in a letter, according to Alba24.ro.

Costin Munteanu, sentenced to 15 years in prison for manslaughter and imprisoned at the penitentiary in Aiud, has asked President Iohannis for an individual pardon, but his request has been denied.

Therefore, the man sent the Romanian President a letter threatening to kill him. The letter has been signed by Costin Munteanu with the name and data of other inmate in Aiud, as the spokesperson of Aiud Court revealed.

The Presidential Administration has filed a complaint against the inmate.

Costin Munteanu was sentenced to 15 years in prison in a final ruling pronounced in February 2017 by the Alba Iulia Court of Appeal. He murdered his lover by kicking her in the head with a blunt instrument and left her body to rot near Pestera Vacii/ The Cow’s Cave in Hunedoara county.
